Logan learned to climb a big tree.
It was the first time he could get his leg up high enough to get up there!

We did a lot of jumping in all the leaves.
Laura did great! She is wearing a Wonderful Wallaby!

Then we carved and decorated 10 pumpkins
From very cute to very bizarre!

Here's a crazy one and one with yarn hair!

Take the book quiz! It does mention String!

You're Cat's Cradle!

by Kurt Vonnegut

You believe quite firmly that free will deserted you long ago and far
away. As a result, it's hard to take responsibility for anything. Even though you show
great potential as a leader of a small 3rd world country, the choices are all made ahead
of time. You're rather fond of games involving string. Your fear of nuclear weaponry is
trumped only by your fear of ice.

I have spring dishcloths

There is still snow in the yard, but I think our duck is back.
She keeps walking through and shaking her head at the piles of snow where she usually nests.

But I have Spring near the kitchen sink!!
The one on the left has already gone through the washer and dryer!

Here's the little pattern (I found inspiration here) :

Cast on 34 sts (or multiple of 4)

Knit 4 rows.

Row 1: K3, p3, *sl 2 wyib, P2* repeat between *s to last 4 sts, P1, K3.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: K3, P1, *sl 2 wyib, P2* repeat between *s to 6 sts, sl 2 wyib, P1, P3.
Row 4: Knit.

I like 12 repeats of this pattern.

End with four knit rows and cast off.

I am knitting!
This is the Jaywalker sock and I am using Austermann Step.

I have passed the heel since this picture was taken.
I am planning on using the peasant heel.
I haven't used that in quite a while and I need some practice.

This is Tidal Waves by SWTC and I am using Fortissmo Disco.
I am loving the little shiny bits in this yarn!

And this is the Shoulder Shopper that I crocheted using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece.
Double Ewe in Circle Pines was having a bag sale.
It was a lot of fun!

For St. Brigid's Day

I found this idea here and it linked to here.

I love their poetry selections and here is mine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Introduction To Poetry
I ask them to take a poem
and hold it up to the light
like a color slide
or press an ear against its hive.
I say drop a mouse into a poem
and watch him probe his way out,
or walk inside the poem's room
and feel the walls for a light switch.
I want them to waterski
across the surface of a poem
waving at the author's name on the shore.
But all they want to do
is tie the poem to a chair with rope
and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose
to find out what it really means.
Some knitting?
I have been working on Hedera (Cookie A.'s sock from Knitty.com) and I think I did something wrong on the gusset, but I am not stopping. It will be just fine.
I really wanted a pair of WARM socks so I tried using Lamb's Pride worsted and some leftover yarn and size 6 needles and I love these guys. They are warm and cozy and a little goofy. Next time I might put the darker color on the ankle and the lighter color on the foot.
Here are the Alligator Scarves from Morehouse Farms.
These were fun to knit and if the grandkidlets hadn't been using them as toys, they wouldn't be all stretched out.
And here are Joe and Laura playing carpet hockey.
Laura thought they should be wearing helmets, so that is why they have the hardhats on. Don't ask why we have hardhats in the living room.
This is the Argosy Scarf from Knitty.com .
The Noro Kureyon Sock yarn is beautiful, but I was hating the way it worked up in socks.
I just can't wait to finish and block this!
Trying to finish up the GIFTS!
Logan is in the unfelted stocking.
He will be six in March.
Laura is in the smaller stocking.
She is 2 1/2.
Now I need to spend a little time with my washer!!
I received my invitation to Ravelry and I haven't been remembering to update this too.
I have been knitting socks and mittens and hats and I will get the pictures up here ASAP.
I am finally enjoying this sock.
I can actually imagine knitting the second sock!
Now I find this
Wonderful idea, no stress and it fits my life-style.
Still here (with my almost monthly post)
I had been working of this sock for a long time and it finally dawned on me that I really didn't like it.
Into the frog pond we went!
Here's the same yarn with a different pattern and I am really liking it. It is the Opal Hundertwasser and I am using the Eagle's Flight pattern from the PT Yarn site.
