Saturday Sky

Oops, this really got away from me. My grandkidlets got to spend the day here and we played in the leaves and ate macaroni and cheese and played with 30 year old Legos and used the markers and looked at the animal cards and ate 'dump dinner' and Joe and Lindsay and Scott came over and we watched Scott and Grandpa take out the old microwave/range hood and put in a new hood and ate apple pie and now Grandma is exhausted, but in a good way!
So here is her Saturday Sky:

Saturday Sky

It's 3 in the afternoon and this is the first bit of blue sky that I have seen in a long time.
It looks like we have cotton-puff trees ;-D

Where will you be?

Bummer! The black print doesn't show on the brown background!

Yep, I fell for this

It seems that no one spells my name correctly, so I wanted to see who else had the same problem.

SS and FF

Saturday Sky and Finishing Frenzy!

It has been cold with snow flurries for the past three days and today will seem glorious!

I finally finished the three baby sweaters (little hoodies).
The yellow and blue ones are for a set of twins due in January and the blue one is for a little boy due in December.
The felted mittens? I did the no-no that I have always told my students: "Never walk away from the washing machine when you are felting!" So I simmered them in vinegar and stretched the living daylights out of them and they just might fit the recipient. I also knit a red pair, but they are not cooperating. If you have any ideas on unfelting, please let me know!

Almost finished!

I thought I should take the picture and get it out here before I give these away. I hate it when I have given the gift and then I have to ask for a picture.
These are from a Mitten Exchange so I don't know what yarn this is. I used #2 and #3 needles and I think they look pretty good. I'll just get those ends woven in and ta-da!

They are really a wonderful deep dark winey purple. I really like the color and it just isn't showing up on my monitor. I hope it looks great on yours!
Update! I was feeling a little guilty that these were plain vanilla mittens. No embellishment, no fancy stitches, just warm mittens. So I put some chocolate in the package and a tiny ball of Opal and little candle. THEN when I went to the exchange, MY mittens weren't even finished. What is done is beautiful and the person who knit them did a great job. I just have to put the thumbs on. Thank you Wonderful Knitter Who I don't know! Thank you!
